Trekking to "Enilchek" glacier

You have a unique opportunity to discover the most mysterious, unexplored and picturesque region of the Eastern part of Kyrgyzstan. We will show you the largest glacier "Enilchek". You will cross one of the most beautiful passes "Tyz-4000" from where you will have a breathtaking view of the Glacier and Nansen Peak 5697 m eternally covered with ice and snow. we will stop at the foot of this peak and if we are lucky we will witness small avalanches coming down from the top of the mountain. 

We will move to one of the warmest summer pastures in Kyrgyzstan due to its geographical location, which is warmer than other mountains. You will be able to visit Yak farm where our guide and his family live. 

And finally at the end of this unforgettable tour we will visit the abandoned town of Enilchek, we will see the ruins of buildings built during the Soviet times. 

Day 1: Karakol - Tyrgon valley - Chon Shuu Pass -Echkili Tash

Transfer from Karakol to Echkili Tash valley (5-6 hours driving). Check in at the military base (border permits will be prepared in advance). Overnight near by the river close to the Base. The road to Echkili Tash valley goes along the beautiful Tien Shan mountain Range; you will see high mountains, forest and perfect views of valleys that you will cross. After 2-3 hours driving you will make a stop on the top of Chon Ashuu pass (3822 meters elevation). Overnight and dinner in the tent

Day 2: Echkili Tash - Tyz valley

After breakfast walk up to by Tyz valley to the middle of the gorge, comfortable place to get acclimatization before going up to 4000 meters elevation. This valley is typical summer pasture with almost no trees but covered with grass. Overnight and dinner in the tent, walking distance 4-5 hours

Day 3: Trekking towards Tyz Pass

Trekking to the bottom of Tyz pass, continue your trip by Tyz gorge, make towards along the river to the skirt of the pass. Overnight and dinner in the tent, walking distance 3-4 hours

Day 4: Tyz Pass Crossing

Most difficult and most stunning day: crossing the Tyz pass (4001 meters elevation). From the top of the pass you will get unforgettable scenery of one of the biggest glaciers in Central Asia – Enilchek, and Peak Nansena in front of you (6600 meters above sea level). Walk down to the skirt of the pass, camping in front of Nansena peak, get ready to see afternoon avalanches from this peak (not dangerous for the trekkers). Overnight and dinner in the tent, walking distance 8-10 hours

Day 5: Crossing Enilchek glacier

Another day of adventure: crossing Enilchek glacier. The tongue of the glacier is ending with strong stream that comes over from melting Ice and snow, the water in this stream is very cold. You will not use special equipment while crossing the glacier; in this area the trails are crossable for trekkers. Overnight and dinner in the tent, camping area near the At-Jailoo River.

Day 6: At Jailoo - Eniclhek Ghost town - Karakol

Early morning crossing At-Jailoo river, the stream are very strong during day and its better to cross in the morning before glaciers still not melted during the night. Walk down to the base camp – At Jailoo, transfer to Karakol, on the way check out from Maida Adyr Military Base. Walking distance: 3-4 hours, 4-5 hours driving to Karakol.
