From "Jeti Oguz to Altyn Arashan"
The ideal trekking route for those who want to explore all the top sites of Teskei Ala Too. The trekking route passes through the famous Red Rocks and Ala Col Lake. The trails go through picturesque canyons with pastures and crystal clear springs. The gorges are filled with raging rivers that originate from the glaciers of the mighty Tien Shan mountain range.
Transfer from Karakol to the beginning of Jeti-Ogyz gorge, Jeti-Ogyz gorge is the area with different colors mostly with a red tint. There are two famous rocks that you will see upon arrival - "Seven Bulls Rock" and "Broken Heart Rock". We will spend a short time to visit these rocks before we start walking up the valley. After 1-2 hours of walking we will visit the waterfall in the "Valley of Flowers". Camping area is located in the forest of "Valley of Flowers" - overnight in tent.
On this day we will walk along the "Jeti-ogyz" valley until the piedmont of the gorge. The trail goes in the canyon near the stream from the mountain glacier. After 4-5 hours of walking we will reach the second camping site. Overnight stay in tent, altitude: 3000 meters above sea level.
First pass to cross during this trip, Teleti pass (3800 meters) is one of the highest passes in this area, the view from the pass is unforgettable, this is the best point to see "Ogyz Bashy" peak (5200 meters). After 2-3 hours of walking you will reach the top of the pass. After a small break we will walk down all the way to the third campsite in Karakol Natinal Park. Overnight stay in tent, 6-7 hours walk.
The day to reach the pearl of the Tien Shan mountains - "Ala-Kul" Lake. This lake is located at 3500 meters above sea level, surrounded by the Ala Kul mountain range with the peak in the middle. The water of the lake comes from the glacier on top of the valley, in summer time the temperature of the water is + 5 C, and its frozen in winter. After 4-5 hours walk from the campsite you will spend the night near the lake.
Ala-Kol Pass, famous point for all trekkers to get the most stunning view of Tien Shan mountains with high peaks in front. 3 hours walk up to the summit, 3860 meters altitude. After brake, descend to Arashan valley, where you will stay in yrta camp, enjoy hot springs and local food. Overnight in yrta, 6-7 hours walk.
Spend time till lunch in Altyn-Arashan gorge. At the Altyn-Arashan resort is possible to take a thermal water bath. You will never be able to forget the sight of the snow on Peak Palatka (Tent) 5260 m or "Swallow's Nest Pool", nestling beneath the open sky. Afternoon walk from Altyn-Arashan resort down by Arashan Gorge (4 hours). Drive to Karakol (30 minutes). End of tour. Arrive in Karakol
