From "Almaluu to Altyn Arashan" valley
A three-day trek into the unknown lands of the eastern part of Teskei Ala Too. The hike passes through a winding gorge - Almaluu - surrounded by high snow-capped mountains and a turbulent glacial river that divides the valley into two parts. Ideal place for nomads with livestock, trekkers and horseback riders. Crossing the Ortok Pass 3560 meters we will see Tashtanbek Tor Peak 4600 meters above sea level. It is a pointed peak in the Tien Shan mountain range. Descending from the pass we will pass through the valley of Anyr Tor where small lakes are concentrated where ducks and other birds live in summer. In the Altyn Arashan gorge we will spend the night in a traditional Kyrgyz yurt and bathe in natural hot springs.
Hike through the Ortok Pass, 3560 m. Enjoy amazing views on the valley and the small, beautiful mountain lakes. Lunch after descend. Walk to the Altyn-Arashan resort, which is situated 2450 m above sea level. The camp is surrounded by magnificent rocks beside the headwaters of glacier-fed streams. There is a great panoramic view on the snow-capped Tashtanbek Tor Bashy (Peak Tashtanbek), 4600 m. Overnight is available in a mountain hut or in tents. Trekking time: 6-7 hours.
At the Altyn-Arashan resort it is possible to take a thermal water bath. Enjoy the unforgettable sight of snow on Peak Palatka (Tent) 5260 m and Swallow’s Nest Pool nestled beneath the open sky. After breakfast walk from Altyn Arashan resort down by Arashan Gorge (4 hours). Drive to Karakol (30 minutes).
